Custom Hillside Pool
Project Type: Custom Pool
Location: Beverly Hills, California
Aesthetically pleasing, and simplistic at a glance, this pool was an engineering feat. The rear yard abutted a hillside, and the yard was extended eight feet by constructing a retaining wall with six concrete piles, 36" in diameter, to an average depth of 34 feet. A 3' X 3' grade beam and a 12' high retaining wall tied this massive concrete structure together. The itself and five concrete piles to a depth of 35 feet. Pool steel curtain walls and bond beams were covered with high PSI shotcrete. The pool is finished with smooth white plaster and "blue stone" coping that is cut and fit on site. The connecting Jacuzzi has a cascading waterfall into the pool and trimmed with cut "blue-stone" slabs. Pool features and lighting are controlled by a "Jandy" system located within the residence. The pool is cleaned by an "auto vacuum" system and water level is always maintained by an automatic fill feature.
